StartBuddy is a neuro-affirming productivity tool designed to build momentum. We operate under a Strict Firewall principle, meaning the physical and digital safety of our users is the core architectural requirement.
1. THE STRICT FIREWALL (CHILD MODE VS. PARENT MODE)
StartBuddy strictly separates the Child (Mission/Focus) Mode from the Parent (Control/Edit) Mode. Child Mode is an entirely locked, sensory-aware environment. It does not collect behavioral advertising data, track location, or contain third-party SDKs that monitor activity. Parent Mode acts as the “Parent Anchor,” securely syncing Momentum history to provide educational insights and positive reinforcement tools for the parent.
2. COPPA COMPLIANCE & DATA COLLECTION
StartBuddy is fully compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not require a child to submit personal information to use the core timer functions. Accounts are established and controlled exclusively by the verified adult during onboarding.
3. MOMENTUM HISTORY & ACCOUNT DELETION
All background logging related to task duration is stored securely and used exclusively to generate the Momentum Charts on the Parent Dashboard. We do not sell this data to third parties. Parents have total control over this data. Activating the Delete Account function in Settings will permanently erase all Momentum history and custom missions from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
